All sporting activities, in almost across all parts of the world, have been halted due to coronavirus pandemic. Both domestic and international games have been halted since March due to Covid-19 with the cash-rich IPL also being postponed. In the picture shared on Instagram, the Aussie star batsman seemed excited about his comeback and also posted a cheeky message with it.

"First hit in the nets in 3 months. Good news... I remembered how to hold the bat," said former captain Smith in an Instagram post with a photo of him in cricket gear.

In the last decade, Smith has emerged as the most effective batsman for his national team in international cricket. The highly unorthodox but effective Smith is considered as one of the modern-day stalwarts in international cricket.

Indian cricket team will take on Australia in their scheduled tour 'Down Under' later this year as team Australia will be much more confident this time due to inclusion of Smith and David Warner in their squad when they take on Kohli & Co.

Former India skipper Rahul Dravid feels India will face a stiff challenge in their Test tour of Australia later this year.

"Missing Smith and Warner was a huge thing for Australia because of the impact they have on that team. They are their (Australia's) top two batsman, they scored the most number of runs for them," Dravid said on 'Sony Ten Pit Stop' show aired on the channel's Facebook page.
