Ashes 2021-22: Corona threat looms large over the third Ashes Test being played between England and Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. There has been panic as four covid positives were found in the England camp.


Due to this, the second day's play started half an hour late. The corona test report of 2 support staff of the England team and 2 members of their family came positive before the start of the second day's play.


This was followed by a corona rapid test of all the England team players and the rest of the staff. After everyone's report came negative, the team proceeded towards the Melbourne Ground. The PCR test of the entire England team will also be conducted after the second day's play is over.

Cricket Australia has issued a statement saying that the covid-19 positive patients found in the England camp have been isolated for the time being. The rapid antigen test of England team players and the entire staff has also been conducted. All reports have come negative. Cricket Australia and the Melbourne Cricket Committee are monitoring the situation.


Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley has also made a statement on the matter. He has said, "Based on the information available so far and the situation, it was decided to allow the match to be played.
