BCCI Invites Applications For Team India Head Coach, Other Positions

The new staff appointed by the BCCI will start their tenure for team India's home series against New Zealand, set to take place in November.

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited job applications for the post of Indian cricket team's head coach, fielding coach, bowling coach and batting coach and Head Sports Science or Medicine for the National Cricket Academy for Senior Men's Team. Team India's present coaching staff's two-year contract ends after the T20 World Cup. The last date to apply for the post of Head Coach is October 26 till 5 PM.  While the last date to apply for the rest of the posts is November 3.

After Ravi Shastri's departure, ex-Indian skipper Rahul Dravid will take over his duties. According to media reports, Rahul Dravid has given his consent to become team India's next head coach. Dravid's contract reportedly will be from 2021 to 2023.

As per the circular issued by the BCCI, the candidate applying for the head coach's post "should have played minimum of 30 Test Matches or 50 ODI’s; or,Head Coach of a full member Test Playing Nation, for a minimum period of 2 years; or Head Coach of an Associate member /IPL Team or Equivalent International Leagues/First Class Teams/ National A teams, for a minimum period of 3 years; or should have BCCI Level 3 Certification or equivalent. The candidate should be below 60 years of age at the time of appointment."
