Babar Azam gestured to his teammates to give them confidence and not to worry till he was there in the middle. He completed his ton in the 78th over, his first Test century since Feb 2020.

New Delhi: The second match of the three-match Test series between Pakistan and Australia is currently being played in Karachi. Pakistan's struggle continues to avert their defeat in the Pak vs Aus second Test against Australia. Chasing a mammoth 506-run target given by the Aussies, Pakistan scored 192 runs for the loss of two wickets by the end of Day 4's play.

Skipper Babar Azam, leading the team from the front, scored a fighting century against the Aussies in Pak's second innings, making him the first Pakistan captain to score a century in all three formats. Interestingly, Azam scored an international ton after a long gap of 25 months.

Babar's heroic innings averted Pakistan's defeat for the time being. Meanwhile, the star batter gestured to his teammates to give them confidence and not to worry till he was there in the middle. The Pakistani captain completed his ton in the 78th over, his first Test century since February 2020.

“Captain’s knock or what?! Babar Azam with his first Test ton in two years. Brilliant,” read the caption of a tweet posted by a Twitter user by the name Neroli Meadows.

Australia declared their first innings at 556 for 9. In reply, Pakistan could score only 148 runs in their first innings. Despite this, the Australian team, which was touring Pakistan for the first time since 1998, did not give a follow-on to the hosts. Pakistan, in their second innings, was bowled out for 192, taking a lead of 408 runs.  After this, Australia declared their second innings after scoring 97/2 to set a target of 506 runs for Pakistan.
