Indian cricket team's deputy skipper Ajinkya Rahane turned a year older to mark his 32nd birthday on Saturday. Warm birthday wishes poured in for the test specialist not only from the cricket fraternity but also from his fans all over the globe.


The International Cricket Council (ICC) took to its official Twitter handle and wished Rahane on his special occasion by posting a picture of him and listing down his career stats.

"175 international appearances, 7,540 runs, 14 centuries, 145 catches.The No.9 batsman in the @MRFWorldwide ICC Test Rankings.Happy birthday, @ajinkyarahane88!," the world's cricket governing body wrote.


The Board For Cricket Control In India (BCCI) and some leading Indian cricketers also extended their wishes to Rahane on his birthday.Notable among the bandwagon who extended their wishes were Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha, Wasim Jaffer also extended warm birthday greetings to Rahane.

Rahane made his debut for India in the Twenty20I against England at Emirates Old Trafford in August 2011. His played his maiden ODI against the same opponent in September 2011.

Rahane made his Test debut for India during a Test match against Australia at Arun Jaitely Stadium in New Delhi in March 2013.

The technically sound batsman has amassed 4,203 runs in the 65 Test he has played for India. He also has 375 runs in 20 T20IS and 2,962 runs in 90 One-Day Internationals (ODIs).
