Rafael Nadal Defeats Novak Djokovic In Men's Singles Final To Clinch Record Extending 13th French Open Title

Rafael Nadal winning the French Open for a thirteenth time also happened to be his 20th Grand Slam title of his career. He has equaled his long time rival and Swiss tennis maestro Roger Federer (20) for the most grand slam singles titles.

Rafael Nadal reigned supreme as the 'King of Red Clay' at Roland Garros for yet another time as he defeated World No.1 and top seed Novak Djokovic in the men's singles final to win a record extending thirteenth title at the 2020 French Open on Sunday (October 11). Nadal was in all conquering mode in the grand finale played out at Roland Garros as he defeated Djokovic in 3 straight sets with the score-line reading 6-0,6-2,7-5.

Nadal improved his win record against Djokovic to 3-0 in French Open finals after having beaten the Serb tennis ace in the title clash earlier in 2012 and 2014. The title clinching win also happened to be Nadal's 100th win at Roland Garros. Known as the 'King of Clay', the Spanish tennis great has a staggering 100-2 win record at the French Open. Regarded as the greatest clay court player of all time, Nadal has been the most dominant champion on the red clay at Roland Garros winning the French Open a record thirteen times. Nadal booked his place into the 2020 French Open men's singles final by defeating 12th seed Argentine Diego Schwartzman in straight sets in the semifinals. The Spanish tennis legend did not drop a single set en-route his march to the grand finale.
