Pandya rested for upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka

The 24-year-old will undergo a period of strength and conditioning at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

But, the BCCI has now opted to rest one of its star cricketers.

The senior selection committee has decided to rest all-rounder Hardik Pandya for first two Tests.

Considering Pandya’s heavy recent workload, the decision was taken to negate any possibility of a major injury concern.

Then Indian team to face Sri Lanka was announced in last month.

India will take on the Asian counterparts in Three-match Test series, followed by limited over matches.

The first Test is scheduled on November 16 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

After hammering Australia and then decimating Kiwis in Limited-over series, Indian team will be back in ‘whites’ for Test series against Sri Lanka.
