PM Modi Inaugurates 'Aadi Mahotsav', Celebrates Tribal Art

PM Modi inaugurated "Aadi Mahotsav", India's National Tribal Festival, which celebrates tribal culture, cuisine, commerce, and traditional arts, at Major Dhyanchand National Stadium on Thursday.

PM Modi paid tribute to Birsa Munda, who is recognised as an incarnation of God amongst the tribal community. Prime Minister said, "The interest of tribal society is a matter of personal relationships and feelings for me." (Image Source: Twitter | @narendramodi)

While addressing the people he said, "I have spent several weeks with tribal communities and families in every corner of the country. The lifestyle of the tribals has taught me a lot about the heritage and traditions of the country. Coming in your midst, I feel the feeling of connecting with my own people." (Image Source: PIB)

He talked about how the government has worked for the tribal community. He said that today more than three thousand 'Van Dhan Vikas Kendras' have been established in different states of the country. The government is giving MSP on about 90 minor forest products and more than 80 lakh self-help groups are working in different states. (Image Source: PTI)

He also talked about how the current regime has helped in improving the scenario of education for the tribal community. Between 2004 and 2014 only 90 'Eklavya Schools' were opened, while from 2014 to 2022 the central government approved more than 500 'Eklavya Schools'. Prime Minister while talking about the significance of tribal art and culture said, "Today, India presents tribal tradition as its heritage and pride in global forums. Today India tells the world that if you want a solution to the challenges like climate change and global warming, then look at the life tradition of our tribals... you will find the way."
