Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida visited Buddha Jayanti Park in Delhi. There, the Japanese Prime Minister tried Gol Gappe, Lassi, and Aam Panna.

PM Modi and Kishida vowed to develop the India-Japan global strategic alliance, emphasising that it is essential for a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region while also benefiting both nations in a variety of ways.

Modi referred to India's G20 presidency and Japan's G7 presidency in his media statement, saying it is the best opportunity to engage on both sides' goals for global good. Modi added that he briefed Prime Minister Kishida extensively on India's G20 agenda.

Following the meeting, both leaders went to the Bal Bodhi Tree in Delhi's Buddha Jayanti Park on Monday. After worshipping and putting flowers on the Bal Bodhi Tree, the two leaders were walking through the park.

On his March visit to India, Kishida set a five trillion yen (Rs 3,20,000 crore) investment target for the next five years in India.

Kishida, who landed in Delhi this morning for a nearly 27-hour tour, also tried Gol Gappe, Lassi, and Aam Panna.

The prime minister remarked that the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership is crucial for the Indo-Pacific region and is based on democratic principles and respect for international law.

India-Japan ties were elevated to "Global Partnership" in 2000, then to "Strategic and Global Partnership," and ultimately to "Special Strategic and Global Partnership" in 2014.
