They are strong, they are independent, they are multitaskers, and they are no less than superheroes. These are mothers who have taken the challenges of being a single parent head-on. Here are a few celebrity single mothers who have raised their children singlehandedly and have aced it.

Neena Gupta paved the way for many women and proved that one does not need to marry to be a mother. The versatile actor did not care about society’s approval and raised Masaba alone.

Urvashi Dholakia got married at the age of 16 and was already a mother by the time she was 17. Urvashi parted ways with her husband after a year and a half of marriage and raised her two boys Kshitij and Sagar all by herself.

Raveena Tandon adopted her two daughters Pooja and Chhaya when she was 21 years old. And she raised them by herself until she got married to Anil Thadani.

Ekta Kapoor followed her brother Tushar Kapoor’s footsteps and opted for surrogacy to become a mother in 2019. She has been raising her son Ravie Kapoor since then.

Shweta Tiwari got married to Raja Choudhary in 1998 when she was just 19. Shweta separated legally from Raja in 2007 and raised her daughter Palak alone. She later married Abhinav Kohli in 2013 and had a son with him, Reyansh. The couple is now separated and Shweta is a single mom to Reyansh and Palak.

‘Bigg Boss’ Season 5 winner Juhi Parmar was married to Sachin Shroff and they got divorced a few years ago. She has been raising her daughter Samaira on her own.

Kamya married Bunty Negi in 2009 and was blessed with a baby girl, Aara. Kamya raised her daughter alone after their divorce. She is now married to Shalabh Dang and both of them are parenting their kids together.

Sushmita Sen did what many women only thought of doing. She adopted a girl child when she was 25 and single, she adopted again after 10 years. She is now a proud mother to two daughters Renee and Alisah.

Mahima Chaudhry got married to architect Bobby Mukherjee in 2006. They separated in 2013 and have a daughter Ariana together. The actor took the responsibility of raising her daughter on her own and has been doing that beautifully.
