One of the most loved Bollywood celebrities Deepika Padukone turns a year older today. The Bollywood diva is not only ruling the Indian film industry but has also taken Hollywood by storm.

Deepika celebrates her birthday on January 5. As she turned a year older today, Deepika celebrated her birthday by starting her day with an intimate breakfast with hubby Ranveer Singh in Mumbai.

The ‘Chhapaak’ actress then had a birthday bash in the city where many Bollywood celebrities including Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar, Ananya Panday and others joined the Deepika and Ranveer for the birthday dinner.

Ranveer, like a true gentleman stood by his woman’s side as she happily cut her birthday cake.

Many celebrities including Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra, Prabhas, Madhuri Dixit and others wished the actress on her birthday.

Before becoming the sensation that she is, Deepika had her own share of struggles. Though she started her career with ‘Om Shanti Om’ starring opposite Shah Rukh Khan, she also faced a setback in her career.

Born to Ujjala and Prakash Padukone, Deepika started her career as a model. She played badminton in national level championships as a teenager but left her sports career for a future in the world of cinema.

The 2012 movie ‘Cocktail’ proved to be a turning point in her career. She portrayed the role of ‘Veronica’ which received lots of appreciation from the critics and the audience.

The ‘Love Aaj Kal’ actress then went on to rule the box office with hits like ‘Race 2’, ‘Chennai Express’, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and others.

Deepika received critical acclamation for her performance in movies like ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’, ‘Bajirao Mastani’, ‘Padmaavat’, ‘Piku’ and others.

The ‘Padmaavat’ actress is now one of the most successful and highest-paid actors in the country.

Deepika also celebrated the special occasion by cutting a birthday cake which was presented to her by the media photographers.

The ‘Race 2’ actress also celebrated her special day with her team accompanied by her husband Ranveer Singh.

From making stunning appearances in the Cannes Film Festival to having a wax statue at Madame Tussauds, London, the talented actress has ticked many major goals in her life.

Padukone turned a producer with the 2020 film ‘Chhapaak’ in which she also portrayed the role of the protagonist Laxmi Aggarwal, an acid-attack survivor.

While sharing a throwback picture of the ‘Ram Leela’ actress from her childhood, Ranveer wrote on his social media, “My jaan, my life, my gudiya Happy birthday!!! @deepikapadukone”.

Deepika Padukone also shared a video on her social media reliving the 35 years of her life. She also thanked everyone including her family and friends. She termed her journey as ‘nothing short of incredible’.

Her next movie as a producer is Ranveer Singh starrer ‘83’ which is a biopic of the Indian cricketer Kapil Dev. She will also be seen portraying the role of the cricketer’s wife.
