Celebrities like Rani Mukerji, Rupali Ganguly, Ishita Dutta and others bid farewell to goddess Durga with the ritual ‘Sindoor Khela’ on the occasion of Vijayadashami.

For the occasion, Rani wore a golden-pink silk saree which she teamed with gold jewellery and mangalsutra.

She draped the sari in a traditional Bengali manner. She also sported traditional shaka pola (white and red bangles).

Rani took part in sindoor khela and also danced to the eats of dhaak.

Rupali Ganguly was also seen in the pandal as she danced and engaged in sindoor khela.

Ishita Dutta was also present with her husband Vatsal Seth and sister Tanushree Dutta.

Sumona Chakravarty also participated in sindoor khela.

Filmmaker Anurag Basu also joined the festivity.

Tanishaa Mukerji also attended the festivity in a red silk saree.

This ritual takes place on the final day of Durga Puja, a major festival in India, particularly in West Bengal.

Vijay Dashmi, the last day of Durga Puja, saw married Bengali Hindu women apply sindoor on the forehead and feet of the goddess and offer sweets to her, followed by applying sindoor to each other’s faces.

Sindoor Khela is known as the ‘vermillion game’, and is celebrated by Bengali Hindu women. The ritual takes place before the idols are submerged. (All images: Manav Manglani)
