You Can Name A Cockroach After Your Ex At This Zoo In Canada On Valentine’s Day

People will also receive a digital certificate with the roach's name and a charitable tax receipt.

Ahead of Valentines day, Toronto Zoo Wildlife Conservancy has launched a one-of-a-kind campaign that gives you an opportunity to name a cockroach after your ex-lover, boss or even a relative you were disgruntled with to find solace. Though this may sound unusual, it is an opportunity to vent out your feelings.

The campaign called name-a-roach gives people a chance to name a cockroach in someone's honour for a minimum donation of $25 (Rs 1507). However, the wildlife conservancy has strictly mentioned that there are naming limits and profanity is absolutely not allowed.

People will also receive a digital certificate with the roach's name and a charitable tax receipt too.

''Roses are red; violets are blue... Is there someone in your life that's bugging you? Give them goosebumps by naming a cockroach in their honour this Valentine's Day,''  wrote the Toronto Zoo Wildlife Conservancy in Tweet.

On their website, the zoo added a disclaimer, ''The Toronto Zoo and the Toronto Zoo Wildlife Conservancy respect all creatures - big and small. Cockroaches play a very integral ecological role in their rainforest homes by helping to decompose forest litter and animal faecal matter and are, in turn, food for many other animals. Despite their hair-raising reputation, cockroaches undeniably play a vital role in the sustainability of plant and animal habitats.''

The campaign has invited mixed reactions from the users.

"Brilliant idea! Please keep us updated with the top10 names you get! Thx," wrote one user.

"Omg, I love this!" wrote another.

While a third wrote, "This is a terrible idea.

"How disgusting," wrote a fourth  disagreeing with the campaign.
