Watch: You’ve Come Back Again? Prince Charles Asks UK PM Liz Truss In Awkward Greeting

King Charles was overheard making the 'back again' comment during a meeting with Liz Truss at Buckingham Palace yesterday.

New Delhi: King Charles has been caught losing his calm several times on camera and this time another awkward moment was captured when he met UK PM Liz Truss. As Truss met him, she was greeted with a 'so you've come back again?' by the British Monarch.

During their first-ever weekly meeting, King Charles said, "Dear, oh dear," when he greeted Prime Minister Liz Truss. The 73-year-old monarch was overheard making the apparent goof during their meeting yesterday at Buckingham Palace.

The monarch made matters worse in just 15 seconds of the video that was taken from the gathering at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday night.

Truss bowed and addressed Charles as "Your Majesty," to which Charles responded, "So you've come back again?"

While Truss replied: “It’s a great pleasure,” he could only mutter: “Dear, oh dear. Anyway …”

After another day of market volatility and mutinous plotting on the Conservative party backbenchers, the video swiftly gained popularity online and netizens started pouring in their views in the form of comments on the video.

One of them commented, "Will he talk some sense into her at all? At least advise her regarding her loss of the run of herself? Someone has to do it.." while someone else wanted to know whether the king sacked her or not?

Apart from these, there were other comments that followed as well. One of them was from Dr Jennifer Cassidy who is a lecturer in diplomacy at Oxford University. She described it as “a scene straight from The Office … political awkwardness and unintentional comedy at its finest”.

There was also another tweet by the Scottish National party MP John Nicholson. He tweeted, “King Charles speaks for us all. ‘You’re back again. Dear, oh dear. Well, anyway ….’ At least he won’t have to endure her for long.”

Throughout her 70-year reign, the Queen held weekly meetings with each of her 15 prime ministers, including her first, Winston Churchill, and her last, Ms Truss.

At his first encounter with the royal family, Charles welcomed the King and Queen of Malaysia at Buckingham Palace. Charles will still meet with Truss once a week going forward, but his encounters with the Malaysian royal family will become a rarity.
