Man Asks If He Can Drink Wine And Drive. See What Mumbai Police Says In Reply
A Twitter user quoted Shiv Sena politician and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut as claiming that wine is not booze and that if wine sales grow, farmers will profit.
New Delhi: The Mumbai police department is known for its creative comments to Twitter users, and it once again responded in an amusing manner to a guy who asked if he could drink wine and drive.
A Twitter user quoted Shiv Sena politician and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut as claiming that wine is not booze and that if wine sales grow, farmers will profit.
Raut's statement came after the Opposition BJP slammed the Maha Vikas Aghadi government's plan to legalise the sale of booze in supermarkets, claiming that efforts were on to turn Maharashtra to Madhya-Rashtra (liquor state). As part of its new wine policy, the state government has allowed all supermarkets and walk-in stores to offer wine made in the state.
Taking to Twitter, the user while tagging Mumbai Police writes, "So if I drink wine and drive, will @MumbaiPolice put me behind bars or show me the nearest bar?"

In response, Mumbai Police tweeted, “Sir, we recommend you raise your bar and ride in a chauffeur-driven car, after drinking, like a ‘responsible citizen."
"Else if the breathalyzer detects the alcohol content in the wine you drank (which it will to be frank), you will have to be our guest behind the bars," it further adds.
