Jewellery Store's CCTV Catches Rat Stealing Diamond Necklace Kept On Display

A video of an unusual theft at a jewellery shop is doing the rounds of the internet. The CCTV footage shows a rat purportedly "stealing" a diamond necklace from the shop. Yes, you herd that right, a rat!
The recording of the theft at the jewellery shop in Kasaragod, Kerala has gone viral since being shared on the micro-blogging site Twitter. The video is also being shared across different platforms.
The 30 second clip opens to show a diamond necklace displayed on a shelf in the jewellery shop. In a few moments a rat comes out from the corner near the shelf. It then climbs on to it and waits for a few seconds before "fleeing" away with the necklace.

"For whom would this rat have taken the diamond necklace," read the caption of the post when translated in English.
