Goa Electricity Department's 'Frustrating' Tweets Over Power Cuts Leave Netizens Amused And Confused
Some users suggested that the individual in-charge of Twitter handle of Goa Electricity Department should be made the power minister while another wished for a promotion for the admin.
New Delhi: Netizens were left with mixed reactions when an individual in charge of the official Twitter account of Goa Electricity Department came out with a brutally honest tweet about their frustration regarding power cuts in the state following strong winds and thunderstorm.
The person handling the account seemed irritated as people kept enquiring about when the power would be restored and wrote: “I also have no lights and would be anytime fading away from you all until supply is restored and mobile and laptop charged.”
The rant did not end here as when a user expressed his confusion, the official Twitter account posted: “Why what??? Or why surprise??? I am also a consumer like you now out of office but only a dept person on Twitter. No special service to me. I go through the same route as you all to find better solutions and to pass it on if any.”
The tweets were, however, deleted after sometime.
A very obvious reaction to such tweets being posted by an official handle of a government department would be to think that the account may have been hacked. But the person handling the Goa Electricity Department’s account cleared that confusion too.
When a Twitter user asked if the account was hacked, this was the reply that was posted: “I do not think a hacker would work so late to lose his sleep and interact with you all in a pleasing way and providing correct information. They hack to cause destruction of some kind. No hack here pls note.”
Some users suggested that the individual should be made the power minister while another wished for a promotion.
