Australian Man Does 8,008 Pull-Ups In 24 Hours, Creates Guinness World Record

Italiano in order to achieve the feat had to overcome injuries, mental strain, and rhabdomyolysis, a serious medical condition.

Pull-ups can arguably be termed as one of the toughest body weight exercises. It takes a lot of power to preform the exercise that also activates several muscles of the body. So when someone does 8,008 pull-ups in 24 hours to set a world record it sounds a little unbelievable.

But, a fitness freak, Jaxon Italiano of Australia set Guinness World Record by doing maximum number of pull-ups (8,008) by a male in 24 hours to raise money for a charity that assists 400,000 people suffering from dementia.

The previous record of maximum number of pull-ups was 7,715.

"I am aiming to raise $1 for every pull up I manage to do. But I need your help! Please make a donation to support my efforts and help me reach my goal of beating dementia. All funds raised will support the work of Dementia Australia to provide vital support services for people living with dementia, their families, and carers. These services include counselling, support groups, education, and training", appealed Italiano on his fundraising page.

According to the Guinness World Record website, Italiano in order to achieve the feat had to overcome injuries, mental strain, and rhabdomyolysis, a serious medical condition that occurs when damaged muscle tissue releases its proteins and electrolytes into the blood.

At one point of time Italiano was close to quitting. "The mental strain you put yourself through, so many times I was close to quitting", he said according to the record keeping company.

While applying for the record, Italiano said that he decided to take up the challenge because he knew he was good at pull-ups.

“I decided to break the world record for most pull ups in 24 hours because pull ups are something I am good at and I believe that if you are good at something, then you should take it as far as you can", he was quoted as saying by GWR.
