Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang Announces Portfolios Two Days After Swearing-In For Second Term

After being sworn in for a second term, Prem Singh Tamang, the Chief Minister of Sikkim, distributed ministerial portfolios, retaining key departments like Home, Finance, and Power for himself.

Soon after Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) leader Prem Singh Tamang took oath as Chief Minister of Sikkim on Monday for a second term, the newly formed government announced its portfolios for 11 ministers.

Governor Lakshman Acharya administered the oath of office and secrecy to Tamang and his Council of Ministers during the swearing-in ceremony at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok. Along with Prem Singh Tamang, Sonam Lama, Arun Upreti, Samdup Lepcha, Bhim Hang Limboo, Bhoj Raj Rai, GT Dhungel, Purun Kumar Gurung and Pintsho Namgyal Lepcha took the oath as ministers in the Sikkim government.

Out of the total portfolios, the Sikkim CM retained the Home Department, Finance Department, Planning and Development Department, Department of Personnel, Power Department, Excise Department, Land Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Transport Department, Information and Public Relations Department, Information Technology Department, and Skill Development Department among others.

The rest of the departments were designated to other prominent faces of the party. Check the full list of ministers and their portfolios below:
