Sindh, Pakistan: Just a day after India expressed its concern over the "forceful conversion" of young girls in Pakistan, a video has surfaced on the internet that alleges that a 13-year old girl is being forcibly being converted into Islam. Some police officers are also seen in the video which makes it even more shocking.

The visuals aren't very clear but we see that there are hordes of people allegedly taking away a girl. The person recording the video is heard saying, "It's Injustice". This video is reportedly taken in Badin city in Sindh of Pakistan. This city is known for its sugar production.

India said that forced conversions in Pakistan are a "daily phenomenon". "Forced conversions have become a daily phenomenon in Pakistan. We've seen reports of minor girls belonging to religious minorities being abducted, raped, forcibly converted, and married," said India at UNHRC.

This video has sparked many responses on Twitter, from both sides of the border.

Forceful conversions have been a major issue in Pakistan. Sindh province - which hosts the majority of Hindus in Pakistan - rejected a proposal to criminalise religious conversions in Pakistan in 2019. According to the annual report of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, there are about 1000 Hindu and Christian girls who are forcefully converted every year from Sindh province, alone.

Pawan Badhe, India's first secretary said, “Systemic persecution of minorities, including Christians, Ahmadiya, Sikhs, Hindus through draconian blasphemy laws, forced conversions and marriages and extrajudicial killings, has become a regular phenomenon in Pakistan. Holy and ancient sites of religious minorities in Pakistan have been attacked and vandalised," at the UNHCR.
