New Delhi: Amid escalating tension between Russia and Ukraine, a video of a Ukrainian civilian is going viral where he could be seen removing a mine with bare hands to clear the way for Ukrainian troops. The man spotted a mine on the road and instead of waiting for the bomb disposal squad got the mine removed himself.
The 38-second video was shared by Ukrainian media platform, The New Voice of Ukraine with the caption, “A Ukrainian in Berdyansk spotted a mine on the road and didn't wait around for a bomb disposal unit - at great risk to life and limb, he removed the mine, clearing the way for the Ukrainian military.”

On Sunday, Russian President Vladmir Putin directed Russia’s deterrent forces to be placed on high alert amid rising concerns with the West over his attack on Ukraine, reported news agency AP.
At a conference with his senior officials Putin said that prominent NATO powers had made “aggressive comments”, in addition to the West putting harsh financial restrictions on Russia, including the President himself.

Meanwhile, Ukraine approached the International Court of Justice in the Hague against Russia to hold the country accountable for its action agaisnt Kyiv.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a tweet had written, “Ukraine has submitted its application against Russia to the ICJ. Russia must be held accountable for manipulating the notion of genocide to justify aggression. We request an urgent decision ordering Russia to cease military activity now and expect trials to start next week.”

Putin on Thursday morning had said that special military operations were being launched “to protect” the people in the Donbas region.
