Taslima Nasreen Taunts Pakistan PM Imran Khan For His Remarks On Women, Shares Old Picture Of PM
Pakistan PM Imran Khan, blaming women for sexual violence, said, "If a woman is wearing very few clothes, then it will affect men's behaviour unless they are robots. It's common sense."
Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan is being strongly criticized for his statement blaming women for sexual violence. Famous writer Taslima Nasreen has also taunted Imran Khan.
On Tuesday, Taslima tweeted a shirtless picture of Imran Khan, writing, "If a man is wearing very few clothes it will definitely affect women unless they are robots." This tweet of Taslima is considered a criticism of Imran Khan's statement on women.
In an interview given to HBO Axios, Imran Khan was asked a question about a case where a rape victim was accused in Pakistan. Replying to it, Imran said, "If a woman is wearing very few clothes, then it will affect men's behaviour unless they are robots. It's common sense."
Defending his old statement of victim-blaming, he said that, he never commented on the rape victim, but explained how the concept of purdah is to avoid temptation.'
Replying to another question, PM Imran said, "There are neither discos nor nightclubs in Pakistan. Here it's a completely different society and a different way of life. If you increase the temptation here and the youth do not have a chance to go anywhere, there will be some consequences."
Imran's statement being criticized
Pakistan PM Imran Khan has received backlash from all around the world for his statement. Opposition parties in Pakistan are criticizing him and his statements against women. Pakistan Muslim League spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb has termed Imran sick and anti-women.
