Russia Strikes Ukrainian Troops, Western Arm Depots As Zelenskyy Arrives In France After Germany Visit

In yet another attack, Russia on Sunday struck Western arm depots and Ukrainian troops in Ternopil and Petropavlivka while Zelenskyy reached Paris for talks with French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.

Moscow on Sunday said that the Russian forces had struck Western arm depots and Ukrainian troops in the Western city of Ternopil and the Eastern viz. Petropavlivka. The Defence Ministry in a statement said that Russia's armed forces delivered a strike with high-precision long-range and sea-based weapons at the points of deployment of the Ukrainian army. "Places of storage of ammunition, weapons, and military equipment received from Western countries were also struck," Russia's defence ministry said in a statement, as quoted by news agency Agence France Presse. It added that "all" targets had been hit.

Russia attacked Tenopil while Tvorchi, a Ukrainian electronic music duo, performed in Liverpool. Tvorchi posted, "Our hometown... was bombed by Russia while we sang on the Eurovision stage about our steel hearts, indomitability, and will." They dedicated their performance to "all cities of Ukraine that are shelled every day," reported AFP. 

The targetted strikes happened as Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reached Paris on Sunday for talks with French President Emmanuel Macron, after accepting a prize from Germany for his country's fight for "European ideals."

Zelenskyy on Sunday evening arrived at the airbase of Villacoublay southwest of Paris and tweeted, "Paris. With each visit, Ukraine's defense and offensive capabilities are expanding. The ties with Europe are getting stronger, and the pressure on Russia is growing. I will have a meeting with my friend Emanuel and we will talk through the most important points of bilateral relations."

Soon after, Macron welcomed Zelenskyy for the second time since the Russian Invasion, to the Elysee Palace. The French leader's office said that during the dinner at the Presidential palace, the pair would discuss France's "support" in responding to "Ukraine's urgent military and humanitarian needs."
