Pakistan: Video of mother pleading plane crew members to open door after baby falls unconscious goes viral; airline faces flak
PIA receives criticism after video of the incident goes viral.
New Delhi: Pakistan International Airlines is drawing flak from across the world after a video of one of its carriers went viral, where a mother can be seen pleading to the flight’s crew members to open the doors of the flight as her baby fell unconscious.
The video has elicited outraged response from viewers who are chiding the airline for their insensitivity towards a mother.
Dawn News reported that the baby fell unconscious because of a fault in the air conditioning of the plane.
In the video, the woman can be seeing shrieking and pleading the PIA crew members to allow her to take the baby out of the flight. The baby was carried by a male member and the woman kept pleading, but the crew members asked her to stay back.
Other passengers in the Paris-Islamabad flight can also be seen demanding the crew members to open the doors for the lady.

Times of Karachi shared the video on their Facebook page and wrote that the carrier 'switched off air-conditioning and kept the door closed for about two hours after having all the passengers on-board, including infants struggling for fresh air.’
In a press statement the PIA said that the delay was for 30 minutes. It said that doors were closed as the aircraft was ready for a push-back but air traffic controller clearance was not received and the aircraft could not start its engine as it was still parked at the jetty.
