'If Residents Of Gaza Get There Before...': Israel Vows To Kill Hamas Chief As War Rages
Amid the war with Gaza, Israel Defence Minister Yoav Gallant has vowed to eliminate Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar.
Israel-Gaza War: As Israel Defence Forces intensified their ground assault against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Israel Defence Minister Yoav Gallant vowed to eliminate Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar. He also said that if the residents of Gaza get to him first, then that will “shorten the war”. Yoav Gallant stated that Hamas has no limits and that its leadership is responsible for the horrific assaults and brutal killings.
“Hamas has no limits,” as Israel saw on October 7 with the terror group’s horrific assault and brutal killings. “The Hamas leadership is responsible. We will get to that leadership,” he vowed. “We will get to [Hamas Gaza chief] Yahya Sinwar and eliminate him. If the residents of Gaza get there ahead of us, that will shorten the war,” Gallant said, as quoted by The Times of Israel.
The Israel Defence Minister further said that when the war ends, there will be “no more Hamas” and no more security threats from Gaza. “When the war ends, there will be no more Hamas in Gaza. There will be no more security threat from Gaza on Israel, and Israel will have absolute freedom to take whatever security action it seeks against anyone who raises their head in Gaza [to threaten it],” Gallant said, as quoted by The Times of Israel.
Earlier, the Hamas-run government in Gaza said at least 195 Palestinians were killed in Israel's attacks on the Jabalia refugee camp. This comes after the Rafah border crossing was opened for people with foreign passports to leave war-torn Gaza. More people are likely to leave the territory and move to Egypt.
On Wednesday, at least 320 foreign nationals on a list of 500, along with dozens of severely injured Gazans, crossed into Egypt. According to Gaza border officials, border crossing would reopen on Thursday so that more foreign nationals could leave the area.
