India To Reach Out To Maldives As Pro-China Muizzu Comes To Power

Rattling New Delhi’s security apparatus as far as the Indian Ocean is concerned, pro-China Presidential candidate Mohamed Muizzu, considered to be close ex-President Abdulla Yameen, came to power in the Maldives defeating pro-India Ibrahim Solih.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was one of the first world leaders to congratulate Mohamed Muizzu after he won the Maldives presidential election Sunday.
