India Cared About Its People And Also For Other Countries: PM Modi Inaugurates Children's Heart Hospital In Fiji

In his address, PM Modi highlighted that the hospital will provide a way to give new life to thousands of children in a region where heart related diseases are a major challenge. 

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the inaugural ceremony of Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children's Heart Hospital in Fiji on Wednesday and said that "India cared about its people & also people of other countries."

This is a symbol of our traditional relationship,” said PM Modi adding that the inaugural event marked “another chapter in the shared journey of India and Fiji.” He also expressed his “immense pleasure to be associated with this launch event.”

Speaking about the children’s heart hospital he said that the hospital is the "first Children's Heart Hospital not only in Fiji but in the entire South Pacific region.” 

Prime Minister Modi said that Fiji has been on priority while sending medicines, vaccines, and essential items to other countries. “'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' , believing the world as our family, India sent medicines & essential items to 150 countries. We've sent around 100 million vaccine doses to around 100 countries & kept FIJI on priority,” he said. 

In his address, PM Modi highlighted that the hospital will provide a way to give new life to thousands of children in a region where heart-related diseases are a major challenge. 

He further expressed his satisfaction that apart from children receiving world-class treatment in the hospital, the surgeries will be done free of cost for which he appreciated Sai Prem Foundation, Fiji, the Government of Fiji, and Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Heart Hospital of India.
