New Delhi: Coronavirus cases have crossed the 6.8-million-mark across the world with the total cases reaching 6,843,840. Meanwhile, 398,071 people worldwide have succumbed to the disease.

According to Worldometer figures, 3,335,219 people have recovered from the infection.

The United States continues to be the country with the most number of positive cases, with the total tally at 1,965,708. It has reported about 111,390 Covid-19 deaths.

Following the US, Brazil has is second in line in terms of the number of coronavirus cases. Brazil has reported 6,46,006 in total and has witnessed 35,047 deaths due to Covid.

The third worst-affected country is Russia with 4,49,834 cases which includes 5,528 deaths.

As countries continue to suffer from the coronavirus pandemic, many have looked on to ease restrictions to resume economic activities because of the lockdowns emptying the public and private coffers.

California is set to open up day camps, bars, gyms, campgrounds and professional sports to resume economic activities with precautions in a week. America's most populated state had released guidelines on Friday for counties on reopening many of the businesses which were temporarily closed since March to contain the spread coronavirus.

The guidelines also include instruction for reopening schools in the fall, as all educational institutions were also closed since March.
