The Ministry of AYUSH is the nodal ministry for monitoring the International Day of Yoga. Every year, the main event at IDY is a mass yoga demonstration led by the Prime Minister himself. Preparation for IDY-2022 is already underway. As the upcoming 8th International Day of Yoga falls in the Amrit Mahotsav year of Independence, the Ministry has proposed to celebrate International Day of Yoga (IDY) at 75 iconic sites across the country.

Every year on 7 April, people all over the world celebrate World Health Day. This year this day will mark the seventieth anniversary of WHO (World Health Organisation).

About 90% of people breathe unhealthy air from the burning of fossil fuels. Weather events including land degradation and water scarcity displace people, affecting their health.

The day is celebrated to spread awareness about the importance of health and quality of life. It makes people understand how to be healthy in life. This year's theme is "Our Planet, Our Health". World Health Day is celebrated under the leadership of the World Health Organization (WHO).
