World Health Day 2022: AYUSH Ministry To Organise Yoga Mahotsav At Red Fort On April 7
Apart from World Health Day, Thursday is also the 75th day of the countdown to International Yoga Day (IYD).
New Delhi: The Ministry of AYUSH is scheduled to organize an event on the occasion of World Health Day on Thursday morning at the Red Fort to demonstrate the common yoga practice, according to the official statement.
According to the ministry, the programme will be held between 6.30 am-8 am at Red Fort.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is likely to be the chief guest of the event, according to the statement. The event will also see the presence of several Union Ministers, Members of Parliament, Ambassadors from various countries, prominent sports personalities and Yoga Gurus.
Apart from World Health Day, Thursday is also the 75th day of the countdown to International Yoga Day (IYD). The Ministry along with its various stakeholders has prepared a countdown program of 100 days for the 8th International Day of Yoga, in which 100 organizations are promoting Yoga in 100 locations, and cities.

The Ministry of AYUSH is the nodal ministry for monitoring the International Day of Yoga. Every year, the main event at IDY is a mass yoga demonstration led by the Prime Minister himself. Preparation for IDY-2022 is already underway. As the upcoming 8th International Day of Yoga falls in the Amrit Mahotsav year of Independence, the Ministry has proposed to celebrate International Day of Yoga (IDY) at 75 iconic sites across the country.
Every year on 7 April, people all over the world celebrate World Health Day. This year this day will mark the seventieth anniversary of WHO (World Health Organisation).
About 90% of people breathe unhealthy air from the burning of fossil fuels. Weather events including land degradation and water scarcity displace people, affecting their health.
The day is celebrated to spread awareness about the importance of health and quality of life. It makes people understand how to be healthy in life. This year's theme is "Our Planet, Our Health". World Health Day is celebrated under the leadership of the World Health Organization (WHO).
