The woman’s husband Rakesh Verma, who works as a labourer, was building a new house away from his current residence. His wife wanted to visit her family for Holi but he refused to let her go, which resulted in a dispute, police said.

Rakesh Verma and the child went to sleep in the newly constructed house while Kesh Kumari and her mother-in-law remained in the old house but the woman came to the new house later on Sunday night and stabbed her son.
