Total Prohibition, TASMAC Employees To Be Given Other Jobs: BJP Promises Big In Manifesto For Tamil Nadu Polls
Voting for all the 234 seats of Tamil Nadu assembly will be held in a single phase on April 6 and the results will be announced on May 2. For this year's election, BJP has formed an alliance with the ruling AIADMK and is contesting on 20 seats.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday released party's manifesto in Chennai for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2021. Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and VK Singh released the manifesto, which majorly focused on the farming sector.
The 25-page manifesto has been named "Tholainokku Pathram". The manifesto has been prepared by a 10-member committee headed by former party national secretary H Raja. In Tamil Nadu, the BJP in its detailed manifesto has promised that if the party gets voted to power, it will create 50 lakh new job opportunities.

BJP has also promised full prohibition in the state if it comes to power in alliance with AIADMK. The saffron party announced that alternate jobs will be provided to TASMAC employees who will lose their jobs consequent of such action (prohibition).
Highlights of BJP's manifesto for Tamil Nadu Polls 2021-
- Free two-wheeler driving license will be given to girls between 18 and 23 years of age.
- Students of 8th and 9th will be provided free tablets.
- Separate agricultural budget will be prepared.
- Direct home delivery of all essential commodities to all electronic ration card holders.
- The government will create a multi-specialty hospital in all the district headquarters and everyone will be treated free of cost.
- Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, free potable water will be supplied to all households by 2022.
For this year's election, BJP has formed an alliance with the ruling AIADMK and is contesting on 20 seats. The AIADMK alliance is mainly facing competition from the DMK-Congress alliance.
In the 2016 assembly elections, AIADMK won 135 seats, DMK won 88 seats and Congress bagged eight seats. BJP fielded candidates for 188 seats but failed to win even a single seat.
