On Wednesday, Sonia wrote a letter to the probe agency citing her illness and requested to postpone the inquiry, which was also accepted by ED. Sonia was found infected with the Coronavirus on June 2 and was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on 12 June due to complications post-COVID-19.

Sonia was earlier scheduled to appear before the Enforcement Directorate on June 8, but in view of her Covid-19 infection, she sought time from the investigating agency. After this, the agency issued a fresh summon and asked her to appear for questioning on June 23.
