New Delhi: Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain’s father passed away due to Covid-19 on Sunday.


Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal posted the news of his demise on Twitter and offered his condolences to the family.


“Our health minister Satyendra Jain lost his father today to COVID. V v sad. Satyendra himself has been working tirelessly round the clock for the people of Delhi. God bless his soul and my heartfelt condolences to the family,” he tweeted.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also expressed grief over the demise and said “it’s a very sad news for all of us in this tough time


“My close friend and colleague in Delhi Govt Satyendr Jain @SatyendarJain has lost his father. It's a very sad news for all of us in this tough time. May his soul rest in peace. Om shanti,” he tweeted.



This comes as 3,92,488 new coronavirus cases were registered in the last 24 hours.


Ten states, including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan, report 72.72% of the new cases.


Maharashtra has reported the highest daily new cases at 63,282 followed by Karnataka with 40,990 while Kerala reported 35,636 new cases.
