'I Do Vipassana, Can Sit For Another 10 Hours': Rahul Gandhi On Marathon ED Questioning

For the past one week, the Congress leader is facing questioning in the National Herald money laundering case.

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said the Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials interrogating him were curious to know how he (Rahul Gandhi) stayed in the room for 10-11 hours without getting up during interrogation in connection with the National Herald case. "I thought let me not tell them the real reason, I told them I do Vipassana. You have to sit for long hours in that, you get used to it," he remarked in jest.

For the past one week, the Congress leader is facing questioning in the National Herald money laundering case. For the last five days, Rahul Gandhi has been questioned for more than 50 hours. In this interrogation many times there is continuous questioning for 10 to 11 hours. Addressing the Congress workers, Rahul said that during interrogation, the ED officials asked him how he could sit at one place continuously for 10 to 11 hours without any trouble.

"I told them I won't tell you...you know what the truth is? The truth is I have been working with Congress since 2004, of course I have patience. This party doesn't let us tire out and it teaches us patience. Look at Sachin Pilot (indicating he is also patiently waiting for his due). That is how we fight for people," he said.

Earlier today, criticising the Agneepath scheme, Rahul Gandhi said, “the spine of the country — small and medium industries — has been broken by the Modi government. I say to all those who train in the morning to get into the Army, Navy and Air force that the prime minister has broken the spine of the country and this country will not be able to give jobs to its youth.”

“No matter what the government does, it will not be able to give jobs as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has handed the country to two-three industrialists who cannot ensure jobs to the youth,” Gandhi said.
