New Delhi: Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij has targeted the resolution passed in the Punjab Assembly to give Chandigarh to Punjab. Vij said that the government that has come in Punjab is a 'bachha party', they are not fully aware of the issues.

"The government that has come in Punjab is a 'bachha party'. It does not have complete knowledge of issues," said Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij on Punjab Assembly passing a resolution seeking immediate transfer of Chandigarh to the state as reported by news agency ANI.

The Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab on Friday passed a resolution in a one-day special session of the Legislative Assembly opposing the implementation of Central Service Rules in Chandigarh. All parties except BJP supported CM Mann and unanimously passed a resolution against the Centre's decision. It has been said in the proposal to hand over Chandigarh to Punjab. The resolution was passed with a majority in the assembly.

Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had said in the resolution passed in the Punjab Assembly that Chandigarh is and will remain the capital of Haryana and Punjab.

“They should not have done this. Rajiv–Longowal Accord was signed 35-36 years ago, as per which it is the capital of both Haryana and Punjab. I said yesterday too that there are several issues related to it…If they want to do something like this, they should first go to Supreme Court over resolving Satluj Yamuna Link (SYL) canal issue. The Hindi-speaking areas were also not given to Haryana, which delayed the rest of the issues. They should say that they are ready to give Hindi-speaking areas to Haryana,” said Khattar.
