PIA Plane Crash In Karachi: Bank of Punjab President Zafar Masood who was on the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane has reportedly survived the crash. As per details coming in from Karachi, Masood was rushed to a military hospital for immediate medical treatment. He was found in a debilitating condition in between the debris and was spotted by locals who were out for rescue and relief work. A Twitter user also shared his image from the crash site while many others confirmed he was alive. The 106 others on board are feared to be killed as the plane crashed into a densely populated residential area near the Jinnah International Airport here this afternoon. Flight PK-303 from Lahore was half a kilometer away from the Karachi airport when it crashed at the Jinnah Garden area near Model Colony in Malir. The accident took place just a minute before landing, reports said. The PIA Airbus A320 contained 99 passengers and eight crew members. "The captain informed the air traffic tower he having problems with the landing gear before disappearing from the radar, a PIA spokesperson said. With Pakistan placed under lockdown, the special PIA flight was operated from Lahore to Karachi on account of Eid.

This is the first major plane crash in Pakistan after December 7, 2016 when a PIA ATR-42 aircraft from Chitral to capital city Islamabad crashed midway. The accident had claimed the lives of all 48 passengers and crew, including singer-cum-evangelist Junaid Jamshed.
