Mumbai ATS Team Arrests Kullu Hotel Owner, The Kingpin Of 'Charas' Racket
The ATS team arrested the accused from Kullu, who runs a hotel called River View in Kullu is alleged to be the largest supplier of charas in Mumbai, Goa, Bangalore and Pune.
A hotel owner of Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh arrested for selling charas also known as manali cream in a covert operation by Maharashtra’s Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS). Several raids have been conducted in the state for over a month after which the team under ATS DIG Shivdeep Lande arrested Rumi Thakur, the kingpin of charas, from Kullu.
Thakur was produced in Shivaji Nagar Sessions Court in Pune on Wednesday. Rumi runs a hotel called River View in Kullu. According to the ATS sources, Thakur is believed to be the largest supplier of charas in Mumbai, Goa, Bangalore and Pune but who never got arrested.

A search is underway to track two more accused in connection with the case.
What is the case?
In December 2020, Pune police arrested two people from Himachal Pradesh with 32 kg of hashish, valued at Rs 1.20 crore in the international market.
The arrested accused said they were going to supply charas to Mumbai, Pune, Goa and Bangalore for the December 31 party. Out of this 32 kg charas, 22 kg was to be supplied to Mumbai, 5 kgs each to Goa and Bangalore and two kg to pubs and parties in Pune.
These people used to bring charas from Manali to Delhi by hiding it in the silencer of the bike and then from there they would take it by train or public transport to Pune, Mumbai, Goa and Bangalore.
