According to a report by the New Indian Express, the police contacted Hitesha for questioning for the counter-complaint filed against her by Kamaraj.
Speaking to the media after Hitesha’s side of the story went viral, Kamaraj had claimed that it was she who had started hurling abuses at him when he refused to deliver the parcel without payment. She began hitting her with slippers, he had alleged.
“We called Hitesha to appear before the investigating officer for questioning after Kamaraj filed a case of assault against her. But she said she had left the city and is at her aunt’s house in Maharashtra," the TNIE report quoted Electronics City police as saying.
In the midst of widespread posts and trolling, a News Minute report states that Hitesha’s home address was leaked online causing safety concerns. This is being cited as the reason for her moving out of Bengaluru.
Hitesha Chandranee has been given time to return to give her statement. Failing to appear before the police will lead to her arrest.
Heated debates have taken place on Social media after Hitesha’s Instagram post alleging assault had gone viral. While initial reactions were sympathetic, Kamaraj responding with his version of the story has titled the balance of netizens' opinions in his direction.
Whether Hitesha will appear before the police again and how will the case proceed in absence of a CCTV footage, remain to be seen.
