RaGa Disqualification: Youth Congress Members Detained In Delhi, Face Lathicharge In Kerala Amid Protests — WATCH
Members of the Indian Youth Congress were detained by Delhi Police for taking part in a protest at Jantar Mantar.
Members and leaders of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) were detained on Monday afternoon while they staged a protest at Jantar Mantar against Congres leader Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha. The protest by Congress workers entered the second day. The IYC members were showcasing “unmute democracy” and “save Indian Democracy” placards at the protest site.

In Kerala’s Kannur also, police indulged in lathi-charge against the Youth Congress workers. They used water cannons to disperse the protestors who were agitating against Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification.

Earlier today, Opposition leaders protested against the BJP over the Adani Group controversy near Mahatma Gandhi’s statue, wearing black attire. Senior Congress leaders including the party president and Leader Of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi joined the protestors.

The Congress party called a joint meeting of the opposition leaders in Parliament over Gandhi’s removal as a Member of Parliament from the lower house.
After the meeting, Kharge said, "I thank everyone who supported this. That is why I thanked everyone yesterday and I thank them today as well. We welcome anyone who comes forward to protect democracy and Constitution and safeguard the people. We extend heartfelt gratitude to the people who support us,” reported Hindustan Times.
Protesters gathered outside the Kharge’s office were seen wearing black shirts as a mark of protest. While talking to reporters, Kharge said, "Why are we here in black clothes? We want to show that PM Modi is ending democracy in the country,” reported Hindustan Times.
The Congress protests titled 'Satyagrah Sankalp' started on Sunday across the country targeting the Modi government over Gandhi’s disqualification. Leaders from the Congress party took part in the protest from Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Haryana, and Gujarat.
Congress MLAs in Tamil Nadu reached the state Assembly by wearing black shirts.

While participating in a Satyagraha rally in Cuddalore on Sunday, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president KS Alagiri alleged that Rahul Gandhi's disqualification was an act of political vendetta by the BJP.
