Will Start Something That Will 'Help A Lot Of People': Sourav Ganguly Tweets

Sourav Ganguly Emotional Tweet: Sourav Ganguly's tweet from his account has created flutters.

New Delhi: A cryptic tweet by BCCI president Sourav Ganguly on Wednesday created a buzz over his next move as he said he is planning to "start something" new.

In a detailed post, he wrote: "2022 marks the 30th year since the start of my journey with cricket in 1992. Since then, Cricket has given me a lot. Most importantly, it has given me the support of all of you. I want to thank every single person who has been a part of the journey, supported me, and helped me reach where I am today. Today, I am planning to start something that I feel will probably help a lot of people."

This came amid a report that the former Indian skipper has resigned from BCCI as its president. Board secretary Jay Shah, however, refuted the claim and said he has not resigned yet.

"The rumours doing rounds about Mr Sourav Ganguly stepping down from the post of BCCI President are factually incorrect," Shah issued a statement to PTI.

"We have some exciting times in the form of media rights coming up and my colleagues and I are completely focused on the upcoming opportunity and safeguarding the interest of Indian cricket," Shah further stated.

Meanwhile, ABP News learnt from West Bengal BJP sources that Sourav Ganguly can be nominated to the Rajya Sabha from the sports quota.

The development comes after senior BJP leader Amit Shah visited his home in Kolkata during his trip to the city and had dinner there.

The dinner meeting with the Union Home Minister had sparked conversations of resentment in Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress, he spoke about his close ties with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

"Our honourable Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is a person very close to me. I had approached her to help up this institute," he told reporters.
