New Delhi: In what give the opposition fresh ammunition to target the saffron party, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Arvind Sharma on Saturday threatened that if anybody tries to target former Haryana minister Manish Grover then “their eyes will be gouged out and hands chopped off”.

“The Congress and Deepender Hooda should listen that if anyone dares to look towards Manish Grover then we will take their eyes out. If they put hands on him then their hands will be chopped off,” ANI quoted Sharma as saying.

Sharma, who is the MP from Rohtak, said the Congress leaders Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his son Deepender Hooda were attacking Grover.

“There is no doubt that the Rohtak Lok Sabha seat was won because of Manish Grover,” he said in Rohtak.

The remarks came as the BJP held a protest in Rohtak against the Congress while lashing out at the grand old party blaming for Friday’s incident.

Earlier on Friday, Grover and several other BJP leaders were confined inside a temple complex in Rohtak for a few hours as several farmers and villagers staged a protest outside.

This took place as the BJP leaders had gone to an ancient Shiv temple in Kiloi village to watch the live broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Uttarakhand visit.

The farmers, who have been staging a stir for the past 11 months demanding the ruling dispensation to withdraw the three contentious farm laws, reached the temple as news spread about their visit and gheraoed it.

Those held hostage included former Haryana co-operative minister Manish Kumar Grover.
