Who Is Govind Singh Dotasra? All About Congress Leader Who Replaced Rebel Sachin Pilot As Rajasthan PCC Chief
Congress on Tuesday sacked Sachin Pilot from the post of deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan and as the president of the Rajsthan Pradesh Congress Committee.
New Delhi: The ongoing political turmoil in Rajasthan has taken a dramatic turn on Tuesday, as Congress has sacked Sachin Pilot from the post of deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan and as the president of the Rajsthan Pradesh Congress Committee. The decision came after the disgruntled party leader decided to give another snub to the party's high-level legislative party meeting on Tuesday morning, despite open invitation and repeated coaxing by Congress top-brass including Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
Two other ministers Vishwendra Singh and Ramesh Meena have also been removed from their posts while Party's state unit secretary Rajesh Kumawat stepped down in solidarity with Pilot.
According to the latest reports, state's education minister Govind Singh Dotasra has been appointed as the new chief of the Congress's Rajasthan Unit in place of Sachin Pilot.
A Look At Govind Singh Dotasra's Journey
55-year-old Govind Singh Dotasra, born in a village of Sikar District of Rajasthan, is currently the Minister of State for primary and secondary education, and also the Minister for Tourism and Devasthan in the Rajasthan Government. Graduated as a Law student, Dotasra initially started practicing in a Sikar court and earned great fame as one of the best-known lawyer in Sikar.
Married to Sunita Devi who a government teacher, Govind Dotasra stepped into politics in 2005 when he contested for Panchayat elections and successfully won as Pradhan of Panchayat Samiti in Sikar's Laxmangarh.

An active member of Indian National Congress since 1981, Govind brought continuous success to the grand old party when he contested the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election for the first time and won the seat of Laxmangarh by a close margin of 34 votes against independent candidate Dinesh Joshi in 2008.
Again in 2013, he won Rajasthan Legislative Assembly elections by defeating former union minister of state Subhash Maharia with a margin of 10,723.
Honoured as best parliamentarian for 2016 by the special committee of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, Govind is known for his orating skills and wisely addressing important issues, specially related to rural community and farmers.
