Whether Galwan Or Tawang, Our Forces Proved Their Valour: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

The minister also said that Opposition should do the politics of truth to take the country in forward direction.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said that Indian armed forces have always proved their bravery, be it Galwan or Tawang referring to the recent skirmish between Indian and Chinese troops in Arunachal Pradesh.

Addressing the 95 Annual Convention and AGM in Delhi, the minister said, “Whether it is Galwan or Tawang, our defence forces have proved their bravery and valour.”

Comparing the Indian and Chinese economies, he said, “In 1949, China's GDP was lower than that of India. Until 1980, India was not even in the list of top 10 economies... In 2014, India was on the 9th position in world economies. Today India is close to a $3.5 trillion economy & is 5th largest in the world.”

Union Minister Rajnath also reacted to Opposition’s stance on the government's approach towards the clash with China and said, “We have never questioned Opposition’s intention”.

“We have only debated on the basis of policies. Politics is done by speaking the truth,” he added.
