MP, MLAs Not Immune From Prosecution In Bribery Cases: Supreme Court's Big Verdict
The Supreme Court on Monday ruled that Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) were not immune from prosecution for taking bribes to make a speech or vote in the legislature. The court said that bribery is not protected by Parliamentary privileges. The court also said that MLA taking bribes to vote in Rajya Sabha elections can also be prosecuted under the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA). Read more
'Amazed At Audacity': SC Slams Ex-Forest Minister Harak Singh Rawat For Damage To Forest, Allows Tigers Safari With Conditions
The Supreme Court on Wednesday slammed the former Uttarakhand forest minister Harak Singh Rawat and then divisional forest officer Kishan Chand for felling of trees on a mass scale to construct buildings illegally under the pretext of promotion of tourism in Corbett Tiger Reserve. The court also also permitted establishment of a Tiger Safari at the Corbett National Park in peripheral and buffer zones of the reserved forest. Read more

No, the Supreme Court in its March 6 Judgment has not banned tiger safaris. It noted that although it will not be permissible to establish a ‘Tiger Safari’ in a core or critical tiger habitat area without obtaining the prior approval of the National Board, such an activity would be permissible in the buffer or peripheral area. The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to hear petition filed by the DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin for clubbing of FIRs lodged against him over his remarks regarding "Sanatana Dharma." Delhi High Court Sets Aside Suspension Of 7 BJP MLAs From Delhi Assembly
The Delhi High Court on Wednesday set aside suspension of seven Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs from the remainder of the Budget session of the Delhi Assembly. The seven MLAs were suspended for repeatedly interrupting Delhi LG VK Saxena multiple times during his Assembly address on February 15 while he was highlighting the achievements of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. Supreme Court Asks AAP To Vacate Party Office On Delhi HC's Land By June 15
The Supreme Court on Monday gave the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) time till June 15 to vacate its party office in Delhi's Rouse Avenue. The court also permitted AAP to move the Land and Development Office (L&DO) for fresh allotment of land for party office. The court also directed L&DO to process the application in accordance with law in the meantime and communicate its decision within 4 weeks. Read more

SC Dismisses MakeMyTrip's Plea Against Delhi HC Order In Google's Favour In Ads Case
The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed a petition by online travel agency 'Make My Trip' against Delhi High Court's decision in favour of Google in the Trademark matter. In December 2023, the Delhi High Court had set aside a single judge's order which restrained Google and Booking.com from using 'MakeMyTrip' mark, with or without spaces, as a keyword on the Google Ads Program.
