It is to be noted that in the face of its robust grassroots network, the TMC witnessed a decline in its parliamentary strength, plummeting from 34 seats to 22 in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, the BJP made significant strides, securing an impressive tally of 18 seats in the state, marking a notable shift in the political landscape of West Bengal.
