New Delhi: A heated debate on live television took an uglier turn after one of the participants threw his slipper at an Andhra Pradesh BJP leader during the arguments.
A video from a Telugu news debate show is going viral on social media. In this session telecast on Tuesday, one of the panellists identified as Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao, a member of the Amaravati Parirakshana Samithi Joint Action Committee (JAC), can be seen throwing his slipper at BJP state General Secretary S Vishnu Vardhan Reddy.

BJP national secretary Sunil Deodhar, who is also the party’s co-in charge in Andhra Pradesh, shared the video, terming it as "gutter politics".
Attacking TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, he wrote for "you’ve stooped to such low-level politics by sending paid dummies. Feel ashamed of destroying the great Telugu culture by doing such gutter politics".
Rajya Sabha MP and senior BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao also tweeted to criticise what he termed as a "TDP sponsored activity".
"This is clearly a TDP sponsored activity. Srinivas is known to be associated with TDP. If TDP says it has no role in it, Chandrababu Naidu must condemn the action of Srinivasa," he wrote.
