Amid the grave Covid-19 situation, a woman in Mumbai’s Kandivali Road was seen boarding an autorickshaw while not wearing a mask. She was stopped by another woman – a BMC worker in a dark blue uniform.

The civic body worker reportedly asked the violator to wear her mask or pay the fine but in a shocking turn of events, the woman instead of following the directive began slapping and kicking the BMC employee.

In the video shot on a mobile camera, the BMC worker can be seen not letting go of the violator and taking her out of the auto-rickshaw. The female violator continued to slap the BMC worker and even pulled the latter’s hair in her hands with visible force.

“Let me go,” the attacker keeps shouting while continuing to create a scene at the spot.

What happened after the incident remains unclear as both can be seen walking towards someplace at the end of the video.

Recently, the fine for not wearing a protective mask in Mumbai was raided to Rs 200.

“Dear Mumbaikars, Mumbai Police is now authorised to issue challans to offenders not wearing a mask too. Every time we fined you for not wearing a helmet or seatbelt it was always to remind you the value of your life & safety. Same for masks. Please take care. You matter to us,” former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh had tweeted.
