CCTV VIDEO: Restaurant owner shot at cash counter after minor scuffle in UP

The restaurant is only a few metres from the official residence of Sultanpur's district magistrate.

LUCKNOW: A shocking incident came into light where a man open fired at a restaurant owner after a small scuffle at Sultanpur's Avantica restaurant on Sunday. Incidents like these put a question mark over the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh. The incident, which seems to be straight of a movie,  happened in a restaurant which is in close vicinity to Sultanpur Jail and District Collector’s house. In the CCTV video, a man walked into the restaurant, shot its owner and left without much fury. The restaurant owner Alok Arya, who was in a critical condition, was referred to Trauma Center in Lucknow. Alok Arya is also associated with RSS and also the State's Minister of Trade. The incident was recorded in the CCTV camera and base on it, three people have been identified. The motive of the attack is yet to be established, but police sources say that a fight earlier in the day between the accused and a waiter over a food parcel triggered the attack. The restaurant owner Alok Arya had intervened and tried to pacify the man.
