WATCH: Man offers namaz on road in front of Yogi’s office, raises slogans against PM Modi; arrested
The man named Rafik Ahmed was later arrested on Saturday by Uttar Pradesh Police.
LUCKNOW: As Yogi Adityanath was conducting a meeting of officials inside his office at around 8 o'clock on Friday, a cleric was seen reading namaz on the road in front of his office.
The alleged cleric, who had come on a scooty, also raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The man caused a severe traffic jam on the VVIP road where several vehicles were stranded on the road for a long time.
The man named Rafik Ahmed was later arrested on Saturday by Uttar Pradesh Police.
It was a shocking case which questioned the security measures in the area as for how can a person cause traffic on a VVIP road while all this the police remained silent. Police while talking to ABP News DGP Police said that he was not arrested due to religious sentiments.
In the case, two policemen have also been suspended. Muslim cleric Khalid Rashid condemned him and called him mentally deranged.
