New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday announced to set up the country’s 'biggest' film city in the state’s Gautam Buddh Nagar district. In a review meeting to discuss the development projects in the Meerut division comprising Meerut, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Hapur, Baghpat and Gautam Buddh Nagar districts, the Chief Minister asked the official to find a suitable land for the film city in Gautam Buddha Nagar district including the twin cities of Noida and Greater Noida. ALSO READ | Kangana Ranaut Lauds UP CM Yogi Adityanath For Announcing 'Biggest' Film City, Says 'We Need Many Reforms...'

The review meeting held through video conferencing was attended by union minister of state for road transport and highways General VK Singh (retd) and UP minister of state for health Atul Garg along with several public representatives and senior officers.

"The CM, while addressing a review meeting, announced to set up the biggest and most beautiful film city of the country in Gautam Buddha Nagar. He instructed officials to search for a suitable land in or around Noida, Greater Noida or Yamuna Expressway and prepare an action plan," an official statement said as quated by PTI news agency.

According to the reports, CM Yogi further in the meeting session directed the authorities to ensure the protection of consumers’ rights by all means. He said that registry should be done as soon a flat is ready.

CM also briefed about the Delhi-Meerut expressway, Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut regional rapid transit system and the inner ring road in Meerut and said that these will ease the traffic.

Yogi Adityanath's decision to establish the film city in UP was hailed by many celebs including Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut who took to her social media account and said that many such reforms are needed and that the film industries of different states in the country to have one identity.
